Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma cannot provide an explanation for their ‘bizarre’ start to the season.
Just months after winning the Premier League, the Blues have just 11 points from 12 games; they lost 1-0 against Stoke on Saturday evening.
Mourinho is on the brink of being sacked, with Brendan Rodgers amongst those touted for the job as interim manager.
Zouma has denied suggestions that Chelsea’s squad is no longer playing for their manager, saying: “I do not think that he is being let down by the players.
“We might not be at last year’s level when it comes to our performances, but we are all together as a team. We all trust in Mourinho, just like the fans.
“I cannot explain our catastrophic start. It really is bizarre. We were Premier League champions last season…maybe it is a mental problem.”
